The Importance of the Right Type of Foam

October 30, 2013 | Posted in: Goods and Services

Have you ever wondered what makes your sofa so comfortable? More often than not it’s because of the foam sheet built into the structure that makes it so soft but still durable enough to retain its shape after years of use. It is commonly made of polyurethane, a kind of durable plastic that have been formed with trapped air pockets within the structure to produce that soft feel to it.  Memory foam is a special kind of polyurethane that has chemical additives that gives it its unique characteristics as compared to regular foam sheets, these additives are of course a trade secret and may differ from each manufacturer. Furniture manufacturing firms always look for foam distributors that can supply the kind of cushion that are according to their specifications. A number of air to plastic ratios can be requested depending on your application whether it be used for mattresses or seat...

Foam’s Density and Firmness Characteristics

October 24, 2013 | Posted in: Goods and Services

When looking at foam, one the greatest assumptions people make is that density and firmness go hand-in-hand. This is generally true with most materials, but when it comes to foam, foam density and firmness are two separate characteristics. Density is a quality indicator for foam, and doesn’t have a bearing on its feel or touch. Density is calculated by the given weight of a cubic block of the foam material. Greater densities mean there is more physical foam product in a particular foam, meaning it has additional longevity. Since all foam is assessed with the same measurement metrics, greater densities uniformly mean there is less open air space in the foam. Firmness impacts the feel and rigidity of a foam formulation. The amount of physical material in a foam form has less bearing on its feel as the engineering behind the material, and what it is made to feel like. A high...

Aviation Operations Made Easy

October 19, 2013 | Posted in: Hardware, Industrial and Manufacturing

It is always an important process to make sure that all the equipment onboard your aircraft is operating at a hundred percent. Periodic maintenance and diagnostic checkups must be routinely carried out to ensure this, the various aircraft equipment that are used are powered by the onboard aircraft batteries, which as we all know, puts unnecessary loads on them and may cause immature deterioration of the batteries. This affects the starting capabilities of most turbine engines and may cause additional wear on the turbines due to the longer starting process. To be able to avoid this problem, an external power supply for your maintenance equipment should be utilized so that a specialized battery for those tools will be used instead of the onboard battery.

Additional equipment that can be used to start up your turbine engines are that of airplane starting units  and helicopter starting units which...

Our health and well-being is at risk, and only we have the choice to stop dirty air in its tracks.   While we cannot stop pollution at the source with a matter of one simple change, we can stop dirty air in our homes with a simple move to install an air filtration or purification system. Little as you may know, some homes already have this wonderful device that works by using electrostatically charged filter media to separate dirt, dust, and even allergens from the air we breathe, allowing us access to only pure, fresh air. For those...

Strategies For Controlling Your Anger

October 10, 2013 | Posted in: Health

Everybody gets angry, but out-of-control rage isn't good for you or those around you. When you can't control your anger, you may get into fist-fights or drive recklessly, for example, endangering yourself and others. But anger also plays havoc with your own body. Research shows that anger can increase people's — especially men's — chances of developing coronary heart disease and having worse outcomes if they already have heart disease.1 Anger can also lead to stress-related problems, such as insomnia, digestive problems, and headaches. You can learn to control your anger, however. In one study for example, cognitive-behavioral therapy improved people's control of their anger and reduced their hostility, aggression, and depression.2 Here are some strategies you can use to simmer down. If you are in a relationship with a hot-tempered partner, you could both benefit from these techniques.

Relaxation

Simple relaxation tools, such as deep breathing and relaxing imagery, can help soothe angry...
